Here’s a look at the latest coronavirus numbers in Massachusetts, including case numbers, deaths, demographics, and more.

Massachusetts on Thursday reported 8,480 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 49 deaths in the last week. The Department of Public Health also said Wednesday that 156,800 vaccinations, including booster shots, had been administered in a week.

The state reported that 758 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 on Thursday. The seven-day percent positivity was 7.76 percent.

In July, the state announced it would be reducing case, death, and vaccination reporting from five days a week to one day a week.

As of July 11, 2022, the state Department of Public Health releases coronavirus case, death, and hospitalization data once per week, on Thursdays.
