With just months to go until the 2024 presidential election, polls indicate the likelihood that voters might see the same two major-party candidates on their ballots as they did in 2020: former president Donald Trump and President Biden.

Yet as the election nears, the field of candidates is in flux.

Here’s a look at who’s still running and which candidates have ended their bids.

Former Texas representative Will Hurd, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, former vice president Mike Pence, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, North Governor Doug Burgum, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have dropped out of the running.

The list of Republicans still vying for the White House includes Trump and former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina governor Nikki Haley.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who initially joined the race as a Democrat, changed his party affiliation to independent. Cornel West, a prominent scholar, activist, and former Harvard professor, who started his bid as a candidate for the People’s Party, said he would run as an independent. Jill Stein entered the race as a Green Party candidate.

Biden is being challenged by Minnesota Representative Dean Phillips. Marianne Williamson dropped out of the race in early February.
