Woods joined the Globe in 1999, working on the night desk and then the magazine, where she also authored the "On the Block" real estate column. She has been the Address editor since 2014 and the real estate editor for Boston.com since 2017. Address and its weekly newsletter have won several national awards for real estate coverage, including best real estate section and best e-newsletter from the National Association of Real Estate Editors (judged by Northwestern University). Woods, a South Shore native, has a bachelor's degree in English/journalism from the University of New Hampshire and a master's degree in strategic communications from Penn State. She has held numerous positions at the nonprofit National Association of Real Estate Editors and teaches a course on mass communication for Worcester State University. She was a reporter/editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Henderson (Nev.) Home News, The Vermont Standard, and The Recorder (Greenfield).
